Supporting the Local Community

At Hillery Group, we’re avid sponsors and supporters of local communities in Bowen and throughout the Whitsunday region. Our company is 100% committed to preserving and enhancing local organisations and bringing people together. Throughout the years, we have donated advanced equipment, durable building materials, as well as our labour to local community groups. We are committed to building on our stellar reputation for helping Bowen thrive.

Our professionals support local schools, organisations and events through our corporate social involvement program. During our sponsorship of the Bowen Turf Club’s 2021 season, we organised an event for our clients and staff in the Hillery Group Marquee, as well as attended the Whitsunday Gala Cup dinner. Our very own Luke and Liam were lucky enough to present the Whitsunday Cup to the winner!

In recent years, our professionals donated products, equipment and labour to the Bowen State School. Additionally, we sponsored a playground for the school in 2020. The ‘thank you’ notes we received from the children are proudly displayed at our workplace.

Providing Local Opportunities

Our company is 100% Indigenous-owned, employing over 70 people to serve the Whitsunday Region. We are committed to investing in ongoing training and employing local people is our top priority.

With our business located on the traditional lands of the Juru people, we have previously worked with Girudala, Juru and Kyburra inhabitants. More than 15% of our workforce is of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent. We are continuously creating more opportunities for a higher intake of indigenous employees in our region.

Our company recruits young apprentices and trainees from local communities regularly. Where possible, we offer long-term jobs to those who complete our meticulous training process. We work with local subcontractor fleets and suppliers, and will always source and purchase locally whenever possible to help support the Central Queensland economy.

Our Local Partnerships

We at Hillery Group are extremely passionate about engaging local businesses and supporting the community.

We have recently introduced the Keep It Local initiative and have partnered with the following businesses in support of our Keep It Local campaign. Through this, discounts and benefits are passed on to all staff members and contractors who shop locally within our community.
